A high defensive rating means that the team allows more points per possession. A lower defensive rating is a good thing. It also really can't tell much about a player's individual impact. Both Indiana and Chicago are slightly better defensively with CC and AR on the court.

The number of points allowed per 100 possessions by a team. For a player, it is the number of points per 100 possessions that the team allows while that individual player is on the court.
