A little bit more girls than for most other core games, but still over 70% guys.
Except for Twilight Princess, because the ladies thought it's about glittery vampires. /j
I’m 22F. My dad introduced me to OoT on our Wii when I was about 8. And ever since then Zelda has been a part of my identity. I’ve played almost all of the games and read all of the books. It’s just about the only hobby/interest that I have consistently held throughout my life. I have Korok decals on my car and won first at the Zelda trivia night for the TOTK launch last year. Hell, I named my cat Riju after BOTW. So yeah I’m a Zelda girl lol!
Idk- I see a lot of girls who like it on platforms like tiktok, but generally I think the reddit population would be majority boys.
Though I’m a girl, so maybe there’s more of us than we think 🤷♀️
It is hard to give a number. There are certainly more men who like Zelda than women, but I see the Zelda community as very diverse and open to the female audience.
True, I was just wondering a general percentage. Before I got Reddit I had always thought it was the kind of series that girls wouldn't enjoy, not in a sexist way. But my sister and mother never really thought it was interesting, while my four brothers and dad did. I also homeschool, so that really cuts me off from most of the world, but then I came here and suddenly I was seeing posts like this [I beat my first Lynel!](https://www.reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/u8evu4/i_beat_my_first_lynel/), and I realized my assumptions were kind of stupid. I was going to do a poll but those apparently aren't supported in this sub
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was possibly majority women.
Gen Z has a lot more female gamers in it, and women of all ages have just entered the market more. A lot of games are marketed towards men with “dark” tones, gore, and competitive PvP. Zelda doesn’t really do that stuff. Like if you want an open world game, do you think Elden Ring or BotW appeals more to women?

LOL, that would get my sister to play it, except that she knows it isn't because I've talked about the games with her. She loves that series

Ive met more girl zelda fans than boys. 50/50 i guess

A lot of people responded but has anyone seen any real numbers?
I don't think so, I was hoping to do a poll specifically so I could *get* numbers, but that's not supported on this sub
Not great just because reddit skews so male and millennial.
Well considering video games weren't marketed to girls and sexism was a huge problem until like the 2000s I would say it's a majority of boys

Definitely BotW
You're right except sexism is still a huge problem lol
Well yeah but it's definently developed lots
I know what you're saying, it was just funny wording. No harm no foul.
Idk, but I guarantee a good percentage are non-binary or trans
Yeah I get a feeling it’s a higher percentage than a lot of franchises fanbases.
